Music Education Develops Children's Brains Faster


The brain's auditory system, which is essential to language development and reading skills, develops faster when stimulated by music and music education, according to a two-year study of 6- and 7-year-old children by researchers at the Brain and Creativity Institute at the University of Southern California. Music education actually "accelerates the brain development of young children in the areas responsible for language development, sound, reading skill and speech perception."
