The Arizona Girlchoir will perform the world premieres of three exciting new choral arrangements in their upcoming Christmas concert "Snow Fall" at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Paradise Valley.
The three compositions are variations on several Christmas carols by two composers, Christian Martin and Jacob A. Beal, published by Choir Unlimited.
“Three Ships to the East” is a new medley of three Christmas classics by Christian Martin: “I Saw Three Ships,” “People Look East,” and “O, Come All Ye Faithful.” While the piece premiered in Mesa last year for mixed choir, this will be the first performance of a newer arrangement solely for women’s voices. It has quickly become a favorite of the singers, and while it is one of our most challenging pieces (for choir, pianist, and conductor alike!) it will surely be a favorite of the audience as well.
Jacob A. Beal created new arrangements for two old Christmas classics. “Deck the Halls” will open our concert with all choirs singing, and “Go Tell It on the Mountain” will feature our Aria and Allegria singers in a fun a cappella arrangement reminiscent of Pentatonix.
The program also includes works by renowned composer Rollo Dilworth and an arrangement originally performed by Michael Bublé.
