Angeli

(angel)

Angeli serves as an introduction to music and choral performance for early elementary-age singers. In a group setting, singers are taught the fundamentals of reading music, watching and understanding the actions of their director, and how to blend their voices to create unified sound. Angeli singers are introduced to basic music literacy concepts, good choral vocal production, and how to perform in a live concert setting.

Singers under age 6 may join at the director’s discretion.

Amabile

(sweet)

Our novice-level Amabile singers focus on developing their musical skills and increasing their repertoire. Amabile is generally late elementary to junior high age. Amabile singers develop their skills by learning music in two parts, sometimes in a foreign language!

Anima

(life)

Anima is for intermediate singers who have achieved an certain level of vocal performance, music literacy, and sight singing. Anima singers are generally junior high age, but may include some advanced upper elementary singers or beginning high school singers. Anima singers learn more about healthy vocal production and creating blended choral sound. More advanced music is introduced at this level, including multi-part pieces.

Aria

(song)

Our Aria singers usually have a background in choral singing or private vocal instruction and have generally achieved an advanced level of vocal performance. Aria is for high school and advanced junior high singers.

Aria singers learn to produce a beautiful pure sound with proper breath support, singing with precise intonation (in-tune) in three or more parts. Independent musicianship and musical leadership within the ensemble are encouraged.

Allegria

(joy)

Allegria, for our alumnae and adult singers, focuses on a professional sound and appearance, providing a rich choral experience for the maturing voice of the female singer. Allegria singers have generally achieved a certain level of vocal performance.
